David's 2x SuperSomething gravel bike build with Shimano GRX and White Industries
Have you ever wondered if you can run 2x gearing on the SuperSomething gravel bike? The answer is YES. We have yet to find a 2x gearing setup that doesn't play nice with the SuperSomething. Here is a build we did for David with a Shimano GRX groupset and a White Industries 2x crankset. Let's take a closer look at this sweet build.
Shimano GRX Groupset
The Shimano GRX groupset from Shimano is "gravel specific", offering precise shifting and reliable performance in many conditions. With 12 speeds in the rear and a wide range double White Industries 2x Crankset, David will have a similar range in gearing to most of the modern 12 speed 1x drivetrains with smaller steps inbetween each gear. Some riders prefer this while others prefer the simplicity of a 1x drivetrain, it just comes down to personal preference.
The Build
Other highlights of this build are the White Indutstries/Astral outback wheelset, and rounding out the build with a White Industries headset with California-made bearings all the way around. David is also running our favorite gravel tires, the teravail cannonball, and while the rest of the components aren't flashy they are simple nice things that make this a really sweet and practical bike.
