Bob's XL Tall Tale Mountain Bike build
There are few compliments better than a repeat customer, so it meant a lot when Bob's order for a complete Tall Tale came through. Last spring we built Bob a really nice SuperSomething that he has been riding around New England and for this build Bob went with the GX Mechanical group straight up.
I spent a lot of time on these build kits and the idea is that they are how I would recommend a friend to build up their bike if they asked me. The GX mechanical group puts money where it makes a difference and lets good enough be good enough where that makes sense. I think for $5000 this ends up being a tremendous value and I am really excited to be able to offer such a nice bike at that pricepoint.
Because the XL Tall Tale uses a 150mm travel fork this build uses the Lyrik from RockShox and we've had good luck with the droppers from KS. I like that all the builds get finished off with the boxcar stems from PAUL. It is one place we go a little extra but c'mon, look at that stem.
All in all this is going to be a really fun bike to handle some New England chunk and I'm glad it will have good company out there with Bob.
