The Tall Tale is a trail-oriented hardtail mountain bike frame from Sklar. This size Medium Tall Tale is all dressed up in the GX mechanical group with a couple key upgrades. For the fork Scott went with the Cane Creek Helm MKII and for the cranks the White Industries M30. This is how I ride my bike. A pretty basic drivetrain that works super reliably and is nice and durable and best of all doesn't cost an arm or a leg when parts need to be replaced. Mountain bike parts take a beating and that is why I love the GX group. It works well and when it inevitably needs to be replaced it isn't that big of a deal.

This frame is a size Medium and Scott has a 680mm saddle height which as you can see is on the lower end of the fit range for the medium, but we have his bars about even with the saddle with a 0mm rise bar and the 150mm travel seatpost just about slammed. For tires we went with the classic minion DHF/DHR combo which is maybe the best mountain bike tire combo ever depending on where you ride.

Anyhow, this build turned out really nice! Thanks to Scott who sent a note the other day saying how much he has been loving the bike and thanks for reading!
