SuperSomething Handlebar - Gravel Bike Drop Bar
Gravel bikes demand a different handlebar than traditional road bikes or mountain bikes. The SuperSomething drop bar is designed to pair perfectly with our SuperSomething gravel bike, and for every rider who wants a variety of comfortable, all-day hand positions without drastically changing their riding position and sacrificing control.
The secret behind the design is the geometry: short reach, short drop, just enough flare, and a backswept top work together to keep you in mostly the same position whether you're riding on the hoods or in the drops. On loose surfaces, that consistency matters – your weight distribution stays predictable and your handling consistent which is paramount to staying in control. The drops are there when you need more leverage on the brake, not a whole new relationship with your bike.
The backswept top of the bar adds a more ergonomic position and more surface area to the "ramp" heading into your hoods for yet another upright position that feels nice on long slogs.
Many gravel bars have a huge amount of flare, splaying brake levers out at an awkward angle. We find that 10 degrees is just the right amount and building the bar with a smarter drop and smarter reach provides the same confidence that lots of flare hopes to achieve.
The SuperSomething bar is made of lightweight and super-strong 7050 Series aluminum with a 31.8mm bar clamp diameter.
