Kyle is a Bozeman local. He rides mountain bikes and is a serious commuter but wanted something to explore all the awesome gravel roads and chill trails that Bozeman has to offer. What we came up with was a nice budget-friendly flat bar build on our Super Something gravel frameset. This steel frame and fork, while designed around a drop bar is also a lot of fun to ride with a flat bar, which some people prefer for more control or just because they like that riding position.

We went with an 11 speed drivetrain and our favorite outback wheelset from Astral and White Industries. The 47c Terravail cannonballs are a nice fast rolling gravel tire that also hold traction really well when you get them onto a trail, really the perfect tire for this flat bar setup in my opinion. Of course we have the canti levers from Paul Component and one of our new Titanium Seatposts for unparalleled comfort with a Brooks B-17 on top.

All in all this is a great build for getting out and around and we are excited to see the places that Kyle takes it.

I love this bike(above) and the Super Something! I have been thinking a lot about this bike and wanted to drop you a line. I currently have a custom bikepacking Meriwether that has a lot of great parts that I no longer ride because of a badly broken wrist from 5 year ago. I have a rod and some screws and that has slowed my riding down and what an how I ride. I also have a SS Cross Check and a Pine road bike. This would be the icing on the cake. I really dont want to go through the hassle of trying ot sell it out and would rather piece it out. It has Avid Brakes and levers,Jones Bar(which I am not sure how that would go with this bike) Thompson stem(90), Thompson Seatpost, brooks saddle and I currently have set up with Sram X9 parts including 34T chainring up front. Although I do have a new shimano derauiler, cassette(11-50) that I was going to move over to the Cross Check and I have a pair of 700×43 Panaracer Gravel Kings as well. I would need to buy a new wheelset and the riding I would be doing would be commuting back and forth and a little gravel here and there. I am on the heavy side(235) and 6’2". I would also but some sort of rack on the front at some point as well. I have a large Surly Rack on my Cross Check with a 139 Wald basket. With all that being said I thought I would get your feedback on what I have and if it could be or would make sense to incorporate on it a Super Something! I hope you had a great holiday and hope to hear from you soon! Keep up the great work.. these frames are beautiful.
