What makes a good gravel bike? What makes a good bike at all? As cliche as it sounds, the best bike to me is one that you don’t think about at all. That was my goal when designing the SuperSomething (and all the bikes here at Sklar) and also the goal when putting together the stock build kits, one of which we see on Tony’s build here, the Rival Mechanical build which features the bomber 1x11 drivetrain and some shiny goods from White Industries too.

This is a build kit that will take minimal maintenance and let you spend less time thinking about what to do with your bike and more time thinking about where to take it. In this case, Tony’s bike will live with him down in Southern California and I am really excited to see all the places it goes.

Some other fun things on this build are all the bits from Sklar. The Titanium seatpost adds some comfort thanks to the flexy properties of Titanium. This build is also supporting a paint-matched SuperStemThing stem which really ties the room together and finally the Titanium bottle cages we offer as well. It is really fun to see all those things sprinkled in to the build. It makes it feel like a well thought out bike.

This frame was one of the last 54’s for now. SuperSomethings will be restocked at the end of next summer but a batch or Titanium SuperSomethings is also coming up this fall, so subscribe to the email newsletter below if you would like to be updated on that and you can learn more about the SuperSomething Here
