SuperSomething - Chris’s touring, gravel bike, all-arounder
Chris recently built up this sample SuperSomething frame just in time for our Japan bike tour. The frame is the recently updated SuperSomething sample in size M-L in the Golden Hills colorway. This beautiful build really captures what I had in mind when designing the SuperSomething - a comfy, all day gravel bike that is really fun to ride on a short after work loop or a 5 day bike tour across a country. After almost exactly three years and hundreds of happy customers, the SuperSomething is getting some updates this fall. Seen here the biggest difference is a fixed dropout instead of the adjustable rocker dropouts. The new frames are using a UDH dropout that is compatible with all drivetrains including SRAM’s “full mount” Transmission drivetrains. I have also swapped the frame and fork over to flat mount brakes and slimmed down the tube set for a truly refined ride quality that came with the benefit of some weight savings too. Stay tuned for a full walkthrough video on the updates where we will go deep on all of the design decisions and features of the SuperSomething.
